About a year and a half ago, “Alone At Night” was announced under the title “18 & Over” – still as a corona slasher at the time, as the pandemic should provide an important background for the story. With Vertical Entertainment, a US distributor has now taken over the project to bring it to US cinemas on January 20, 2023, while also publishing it digitally as a stream to VoD providers. There is therefore a good chance that a German release will also take place in the course of 2023.
In the latest announcement with theatrical release and renaming, Corona is no longer mentioned as a subject. However, one should not assume that this plot point has been abandoned and the story has changed. Perhaps it is feared that after almost two years of pandemic, people are quite annoyed by it. Instead, the first good synopsis for the project brings more attention to the topic already mentioned in the earlier announcement, the social media hype Only Fans.
