The days are getting shorter, the evenings longer and colder. In order to have enough material for cozy movie and series evenings on the couch, the streaming services have announced some innovations. Here is a selection of them:
The fifth season of “The Crown” is set in the nineties and is about the turbulent relationship between Diana and Charles and the death of Princess Diana in 1997. For the new season, the roles have been rearranged again. Elizabeth Debicki plays Diana and Imelda Staunton plays Queen Elizabeth.
Season 5 will be released on November 9.
This spin-off of The Addams Family is all about Teenager Wednesday. After an incident, she is sent to Nevermore Academy – a school for misfits and eccentrics. Her parents Morticia and Gomez met there at the time.
“Wednesday” starts on November 23.
Enola, the little sister of master detective Sherlock Holmes, also wants to become a detective. She opens her own detective agency, but is always overshadowed by her brother. Until she gets a case related to Sherlock’s current case and the siblings have to work together.
The film will be available on Netflix from November 4.
It’s been four years since Grace was murdered and the Stone family’s life is in tatters. Ben still mourns the loss of his wife and must search for his kidnapped daughter. He has resigned from his position as captain of the lifeboat. But then a mysterious person shows up with a package and they have to question everything they thought they knew about Flight 828.
The fourth season of Manifest will be released in two parts. The first part (10 episodes) will be available from November 4.
Florence Pugh plays the English nurse Lib in 1862. She is tasked with examining an eleven-year-old girl who appears to have not eaten in four months. As the girl’s health deteriorates, Lib must battle the pious Irish village to uncover the truth.
The film can be seen from November 16.
Another eventful year is coming up at Las Encinas Private School. The mystery surrounding Armando’s death could sour the relationship between Samuel and Ari, Rebeka goes through a process of self-discovery, and Omar tries to overcome the split with Ander. New arrivals Isadora, heiress to a nightclub owner, and Iván, son of a world-famous soccer star, are also causing a stir.
The sixth season starts on November 18.
The Mage returns years after rescuing little Empress Elora Danan to lead a group of unlikely heroes on a harrowing rescue mission across a world beyond imagination.
Warwick Davis slips back into his eponymous role in “Willow”. The sequel series is based on George Lucas’s 1988 fantasy adventure of the same name.
“Willow” will be available from November 30.
15 years after she married her Robert (Patrick Dempsey), Giselle (Amy Adams) is still over the moon, but in the real world she doesn’t seem so comfortable. After moving from New York to a sleepy suburb, she wants a fairytale life back. Giselle realizes that this was not quite well thought out when the wish becomes much more real than she would like.
“Wretched Again” is the sequel to the 2007 cinema hit “Wretched” and will be available on Disney Plus November 18.
Simply so that “Family Guy” is also included in such a list: Disney Plus is delivering the 20th season of the cult series. Also included as always: Peter, Lois, Brian, Megan (voiced by the wonderful Mila Kunis by the way), the talking dog Brian and the cynical but very intelligent baby Stewie.
The anniversary season of “Family Guy” will be available on Disney Plus from November 2.
Star manager Corso Manni is accused of being involved in an illegal gambling business. This mysterious series is about a plane crash. A few days after the accident, a 14-year-old boy claims he was the pilot of the plane and could remember his death. The pilot’s pregnant wife tried to stop him from flying before the mission.
The first season will be released on November 8.
This series is based on a true story and was told by Netflix in 2017 as a documentary (“Abducted in Plain Sight”). In the Sky movie adaptation, McKenna plays Grace, the daughter of the family who is kidnapped multiple times by a close friend of the family.
The streaming starts is November 25.
“My Policeman” is set in Brighton in the 1950s and is about police officer Tom. He marries a woman to hide his homosexuality, but he is actually in love with Patrick, a museum curator. The three spend a lot of time together, but an event pulls them apart. Tom, Patrick and Marion don’t meet again until the 1990s. A lot has changed and old feelings flare up again.
The premiere is on November 4.
Jamie’s world comes crashing down when he discovers shocking secrets about his pregnant wife. His brother-in-law Jeff helps him find answers, but as a result, his marriage begins to crumble. When the consequences of all their actions come to light, they shake both families upside down.
The six-part series can be seen from November 11.
Jennifer Lawrence plays an American soldier who is injured while serving in Afghanistan. It’s not easy for her to find her way back home to New Orleans. She meets a mechanic and an unexpected relationship develops between them.

On their escape, Allie, Margot, Dina and Charlie make their way through the Mexican rainforest. They end up in an idyllic community called Casa Rojas, but looks can be deceiving. Casa Rojas has its own dark secrets, which the family reveals as they adjust to their new, off-the-grid lives.

After the death of King T’Challa, Queen Ramonda (played by Angela Bassett), Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their country from intervening world powers. To do this, they must team up with elite warriors Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman).
After Chadwick Boseman, who starred in “Black Panther”, died unexpectedly in 2020, the Marvel producers decided not to cast the role with someone else, but to focus the plot on the kingdom of Wakanda and its people.
