Now another (action) project has been added to Alan Ritchson’s now quite full agenda – and here he apparently takes on the sole leading role: just like the American industry magazine According to reports, Ritchson will star in a sci-fi action game called ‘War Machine’.
“War Machine” is based on an idea of Patrick Hugheswho will also write and direct the script. Hughes has already gained a lot of action experience with “Red Hill” and “The Expendable 3” and recently delivered three rather humorous action films with “Killer’s Bodyguard” and “Killer’s Bodyguard 2” as well as the Netflix film “The Man From Toronto”.
‘War Machine’ is about a group of US Army Rangers who are in the middle of ‘the world’s toughest selection process’ when they are confronted with a ‘threat beyond their imagination’, according to the official release called Logline. In plain language it probably means: Many tough elite soldiers face an alien invasion.
Not on Prime Video, but on Netflix
However, fans of ‘Reacher’ who are already looking forward to additional promotional rates on Amazon Prime Video should be prepared for disappointment or at the very least another streaming service. “War Machine” was developed by American studio Lionsgate for Netflix.
However, it is unclear when “War Machine” will even be filmed. Ritchson is currently in front of the camera for the aforementioned ‘Playdate’, and will then move on to the third season of ‘Reacher’. We therefore expect new films in 2025 at the earliest, but more likely in 2026.
