The ‘Titanic’ wooden panel (which would have had room for Jack if he had) was auctioned

The famous ‘Titanic’ wooden panel that saved main character Rose DeWitt in the film, but not Jack Dawson, has been auctioned off.

At a global auction organized by Heritage Auctions in Dallas (US state of Texas), it changed hands for $718,750, becoming the “king of the auction”, as the US auction house announced.

The iconic prop from the Oscar-winning film has been the subject of discussion for years. At issue was nothing less than whether Jack, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, wouldn’t have babysat after the passenger steamer sank (he easily would have) — that is, whether James Cameron’s classic film had a happy ending can have. .

According to the auction house, the wooden panel was often incorrectly referred to as a ‘door’. In fact, it was “part of the door frame above the entrance to the first class lounge.” In addition to the wooden panel, other “Titanic” pieces were among the top items at the auction: information states that her prototype sold for $125,000, the ship’s steering wheel for $200,000, and Rose’s chiffon dress for $118,750 dollars.
