Something completely new in the “Star Wars” universe
The reason “The Acolyte” will be groundbreaking is because the series goes further back in the “Star Wars” timeline than any other live-action entry ever has. Showrunner Leslye Headland’s series is set during the High Republic period. In this era, the Jedi are at the absolute height of their power, while the Sith hide underground. It is precisely in this field of tension that ‘The Acolyte’ will unfold.
In addition to “Squid Game” stars Jung-jae Lee and Amandla Stenberg (“The Hate You Give”), Carrie-Anne Moss (“The Matrix”), Jodie Turner-Smith (“Queen & Slim”), Manny Jacinto (“ Nine Perfect Strangers”), Dafne Keen (“His Dark Materials”), Rebecca Henderson (“Single Drunk Female”), Dean-Charles Chapman (“Blinded By The Light”) and Margarita Levieva (“The Deuce”) from the game .
