Halloween traditionally marks the release of a new Treehouse of Horror episode of The Simpsons. One of this year’s stories is a great tribute to the manga and anime classic “Death Note”., of which there are also several live-action adaptations – a very popular film series from Japan and an American remake with mixed reviews from Netflix. In Death Note, a student finds a mysterious notebook. This gives the power to kill a person by writing their name in the notebook. He wants to use his newfound power to convict criminals.
In the episode “The Simpsons” Lisa now gets this notebook, which here is not called Death Note, but Death Tome. In one of the photos, we also see Lisa along with Ryuk, the god of death, appearing to those people who touched the notebook. The images also give us a first glimpse of Homer and Marge, who, like Lisa, have changed the visuals in the anime design. Above all, Marge’s towering haircut is interpreted significantly differently.

A short video clip also shows the scene where Lisa finds the Death Note.
There’s a reason the photos look so good and should inspire “Death Note” fans. Those responsible for “The Simpsons” have enlisted outside help for the project. The Korean animation company DR Movie, which is also involved in the series”Avatar – The Lord of the Elements‘ was involved in the realization of this part of the ‘Treehouse Of Horror’ episode. Incidentally, it was probably inspired by fans who created so-called fan art many years ago, imagining the Simpsons in the “Death Note” universe.
German date for the “Death Note” episode of “The Simpsons”? Unfortunately still unknown!
The only bad news for anyone who, after these pictures, really wants to see this upcoming episode of “The Simpsons”: While the episode will air in North America in a few days, we’ll have to wait October 30, 2022 in Germany. After the remaining episodes of the 33rd season recently appeared on Disney+ in one fell swoop, it is not yet known when the current 34th season will be released in this country.
With the move to Disney+ premieres, there are no hard and fast rules to make assumptions about. It is conceivable that Disney will wait for the American broadcast of the entire season and then publish it with us in one fell swoop. Maybe parts will come sooner and maybe at some point you’ll move to a parallel release model, as is the norm with other titles now. We’ve already checked with Disney about this and will let you know when we get updates.
