The clock is ticking: in a few days a series will start on Netflix that not only ‘Game Of Thrones’ fans have been waiting for for a long time. The new series by David Benioff, DB Weiss and Alexander Woo is based on the novel trilogy ‘Trisolaris’ by Liu Cixin, whose first part ‘The Three Suns’ won coveted prizes such as the Galaxy Award and the Hugo Award. A story that spans generations, it is about nothing less than the question: What would happen if we actually made contact with aliens? That’s what ‘3 Body Problem’ is about
Unsurprisingly, the answer is of course: a lot of bad things would happen… and it all starts when young astrophysicist Ye Wenjie (Zine Tseng) has to experience the harshness of the regime firsthand during China’s Cultural Revolution and by participating in one case, a top-secret research project then makes a momentous decision.
Decades later, a group of brilliant young scientists consisting of Auggie Salazar (Eiza González), Jack Rooney (John Bradley), Saul Durand (Jovan Adepo), Jin Cheng (Jess Hong) and Will Downing (Alex Sharp) are confronted with unexplained phenomena. : why do the brightest minds in science suddenly commit suicide, seemingly for no reason? And what about the mysterious countdown that appears for some of them?
