The nominees for the best song will perform at the Oscars

The 96th Academy Awards will feature live performances of the five Best Original Song nominees, with artists such as Becky G, Billie Eilish, Ryan Gosling and Jon Batiste taking to the Dolby Theater stage next March 10.

The Hollywood Academy announced the performances this Wednesday after it was leaked earlier in the week that Gosling would perform at the ‘I’m Just Ken’ gala, despite the controversy sparked by the film’s director’s non-nomination in January ‘Barbie’, Greta Gerwig, nor her protagonist Margot Robbie.

Except for Gosling’s song with Mark Ronson, Another song from the soundtrack of the film about the Mattel doll will be heard at the Oscars: ‘What Was I Made For?’, performed and composed by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell, who already won the Grammy this season for the best song written for audiovisual media.

‘The Fire Inside’, performs Becky G and created by Diane Warren for the movie ‘Flamin’ Hot’; ‘It Never Went Away’, by Jon Batiste for his documentary ‘American Symphony’; and ‘Wahzhazhe’, by Scott George and native Osage singers for ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, round out the performance list.

The Hollywood Academy also revealed this week that celebrities such as Nicolas Cage, Jamie Lee Curtis, Brendan Fraser, Al Pacino and Zendaya will present some of the awards or host the gala, which will once again be hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ leads the nominations this year with 13 nominations, followed by Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘Les Miserables’ with 11 and Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ with 10.

The 96th Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 10 at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood (Los Angeles, USA) starting at 4:00 PM local time (00:00 GMT Monday).
