All information about “Star Wars 10”: theatrical release, content, cast and rumors about “New Jedi Order”

With so many rumors and reports about all the ‘Star Wars’ movies, it can be easy to lose track. We want to solve this with collection items that are always up to date. This article is about what is known as “Star Wars 10“but also known as the “New Jedi Order” project, which will continue the main saga. If you want to know what other projects are being made, we have all the information here:

It is important to note up front: there is currently no official title for the film presented in this article. “Star Wars 10” and “New Jedi Order” are only preliminary project titles. The name ‘A new beginning’ also sometimes circulated. According to reports, Lucasfilm has not yet decided on a final title.

What is Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order about?

According to the official announcement, the story will take place 15 years after “Star Wars 9: The Rise of Skywalker“insert. Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley) wants to rebuild the fallen Jedi Order. The story is said to have been in the planning stages for years and also ties in well with the themes highlighted in other projects. Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy revealed that the question will be raised as to whether the galaxy still needs the Jedi Order and whether it even wants them back.

At times, rumors swirled that Rey would take on a mentor role, while the focus was on two particularly promising Jedi students: a boy and a girl. However, these rumors were contradicted by other insiders.

Who’s making Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order?

“Lost” and “Watchmen” creators Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson (“The Strain”) originally developed the project. However, there were probably creative differences, which is why they parted ways. According to unconfirmed rumors, Lindelof had a very political ‘Star Wars’ film in mind, but Lucasfilm and Disney wanted to focus more on the entertainment aspect after all the past controversies. The makers of Peaky Blinders Steven Knight was hired as a successor to the script. directs Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy (“Mrs. Marvel”).

We’ll definitely see it on camera Daisy Ridley as Rey Skywalker. But this should not play the leading role. For this purpose, new characters that have not yet been cast will be introduced. However, the names of Brian Tyree Henry (“Eternals”) and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Aquaman”) for one of the roles have been circulating in the rumor mill. Appearances by other well-known characters are possible. There were already rumors going around about the possible participation of Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, John Boyega as Finn and even Adam Driver as Ben Solo’s power spirit.

Does “Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order” Introduce a New Trilogy?

Until now, the Skywalker saga has been told in trilogies. Therefore, one might assume that “New Jedi Order” will usher in a new series, followed by “Star Wars 11” and “Star Wars 12.” But that is probably not on the agenda for the time being. Lucasfilm is said to have become convinced that focusing too much on trilogies was a hindrance. Now it’s about making a good movie that stands on its own.

If this appeals to the audience and is successful, there are of course opportunities to continue this story.

When will Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order hit theaters?

Lucasfilm and Disney have announced numerous theatrical release dates, but have yet to commit any films to them. There is still no official information on when “Star Wars 10: New Jedi Order” will launch. But there is a very likely timetable.

Filming is expected to begin sometime in 2024. An originally planned start in the spring is no longer likely, but could now start in the summer or fall. According to current information, the reports sometimes circulating that the project has been canceled are incorrect. You can certainly take your time, because you have a relatively large buffer planned and could even start shooting in 2025 without any problems.

It is assumed that that “Star Wars 10” will not be released in theaters worldwide until December 2026 (!). “The Mandalorian & Grogu” was previously expected to release in May 2026.
