Where is Francesca Bridgerton located? Many fans of the historical series ‘Bridgerton’ on Netflix and especially the popular books by Julia Quinn wondered this after the first two seasons. Because she was the only one of the eight Bridgerton siblings who barely appeared in season 1, and she quickly disappeared from the scene in season 2 as well.
The explanation: Francesca actress Ruby Stokes had other commitments at the same time, filming the Netflix fantasy series “Lockwood & Co,” which ultimately necessitated Stokes leaving “Bridgerton” entirely. This will be the case from season 3 onwards Hannah Dodd (“Anatomy of a Scandal”) will be seen as the new face of Francesca in “Bridgerton”. – and finally get the attention that fans of the popular character have long wanted for the young woman.
Hannah Dodd steps into the spotlight as Francesca
Season 3 is far from ‘her’ season – it’s not about Francesca’s great love story, but rather that of her older brother Colin (Luke Newton). He must now finally take his foot off the snake and realize that he has much more in common with Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) than just friendship. But Francesca takes center stage in season 3 in a different way: she’s introduced into society!
Each season of “Bridgerton” always focuses on the current ball season in London and which young women are now officially celebrating their debut into society so they can attend balls and escape the domestic environment. And in season 3, it’s Francesca Bridgerton’s turn, who finally gets more screen time.
Newcomer Hannah Dodd talked about Francesca’s significantly expanded role in Season 3 on the official homepage of Shonda Rhimes’ production company Schondaland – and suggested that Francesca has her own ideas about how to move on the social stage:
“You will see more of Francesca this season. This is her first season as part of high society, so while you’ve seen her more within the family dynamic so far, you now also experience them in social dynamics. And she has to figure out how to deal with it first – and that may be a little different than her relatives. It’s definitely an exciting season for them.”
Netflix already has it, by the way all episode titles for the third season of “Bridgerton“reveals – you can speculate wildly what the respective episodes will be about:
The third season of ‘Bridgerton’ comes to Netflix in two parts, each half consists of four episodes each. Season 3.1 will be released on May 16, 2024, season 3.2 will follow on June 13, 2024. By the way, leaving “Bridgerton” probably wasn’t worth it for Ruby Stokes – because “Lockwood & Co.” was canceled after just one season, much to the disappointment of many fantasy fans, who probably received the book adaptation quite well.
