The first votes on “Dune 2”: a masterpiece that stimulates all the senses – sci-fi better than ever?

You always have to be a little careful when it comes to the first votes on social media. Because with platforms like But even though we can’t tell you anything about our film review due to the existing embargo period for “Dune: Part Two”, we can probably tell you a lot about this: The voices are not exaggerated! Stay hyped for what’s next!

Always one word: “masterpiece”

The journalist is one of many calling “Dune 2” a “masterpiece.” Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya have never been better.

The term “masterpiece” can be found in many voices, including critics of the New York Times He even wants it “one of the best space films ever”, “one of the most visually impressive films” and “an attack on all the senses” have seen.

“An adrenaline rush for head and heart”

Film critic describes the complete overwhelm that “Dune 2” offers a little differently: “An adrenaline rush for the head and heart,” she says. She also states: “Dune 2” is jaw-dropping, “breathtaking” and “incredibly exciting.”

And speaking of experiences related to “Dune 2”, the voice of Quite good. After the film he felt as if he had ridden a sandworm himself.

Huge yet more intimate!

from Invers is enthusiastic about the way Denis Villeneuve has packed the much more complex second half of the book into a simple film. He calls it a “triumph”, “bigger” than its predecessor, but at the same time “more intimate”.

Zendaya is hailed as the big star. For two other cast members are the stars. He compares the science fiction opera not only to ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Lawrence of Arabia’, but also to indicates that everyone will be talking about Austin Butler. But Timothée Chalamet impressed him the most:

Not only the stars deserve praise, but also the many people behind the camera from Variety, which certainly singles out Greig Fraser’s camerawork and Patrice Vermette’s production designs “in one of the best science fiction films in generations” as representative of many others:

Criticism? Maybe because of the duration!

Even the few critical voices we could find are largely euphoric. Box office expert the video explains but criticizes the ‘visual triumph’ for the fact that the story of the 2.5 hour film is effectively over after 90 minutes – a criticism he already had of the predecessor.

And prefers the “simpler ‘Dune’” to its sequel, but still approves of it “masterful filmmaking on an epic scale.”

So it looks like we can expect a real sci-fi highlight, a film that is at the pinnacle of the genre. You can soon see for yourself: Dune 2“will hit theaters on February 29, 2024.

In addition to Timothée Chalamet, it also stars Zendaya and Austin Butler, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, Dave Bautista, Léa Seydoux and Stellan Skarsgard and Charlotte Rampling. You can expect the extensive reviews – including the FILMSTARTS review – a week before the cinema release.
