A movie about the pain of past love. Clementine (Kate Winslet) undergoes a new procedure to erase Joel (Jim Carrey) from her memory forever. Joel wants to do the same, but during treatment he mentally relives the time they spent together and suddenly becomes unsure if he really wants to forget the love of his life. The original title, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”, is a line from a poem by Alexander Pope. The film won the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay in 2005.

Stars such as Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Patrick Dempsey, Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Alba come together in this romantic comedy. The film tells several separate stories, set on Valentine’s Day, that are somehow interconnected. It’s a movie full of confusion, disappointments, but also passion, humor and love.

Streaming service Netflix describes the teen drama as “Butterfly vibes, feel-good, familiar, romantic.” Introverted student Lara Jean (Lana Condor) channels her unrequited crushes into love letters she never sends—until her little sister secretly does it for her. From this moment on, chaos reigns as the five buyers try to confront Lara.

17-year-old Elio (Timothée Chalamet) spends the summer of 1983 at his parents’ country house in northern Italy. There she meets Oliver (Armie Hammer), a 24-year-old American who is her father’s new research assistant. Elio and Oliver immediately hit it off, and their initial friendship becomes increasingly intimate. The director fascinates the audience with the tension and chemistry between the two leading actors.

In the 18th century, painter Marianne (Noémie Merlant) is expected to paint the wedding portrait of a noblewoman – because the young lady Héloïse (Adèle Haenel) is strongly against the marriage. Two women bond on a remote island in Brittany. This French feature film by Céline Sciamma tells the bittersweet story of impossible love. The film takes a refreshingly feminine view of women in a romantic context.

Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) writes letters professionally. While in his daily professional life he finds the right words for each recipient with precision, in his private life silence prevails. After the end of a long-term relationship, Theodore feels lonely. He decides to install a new operating system with artificial intelligence and starts speaking with Samantha’s (Scarlett Johansson) voice. Samantha not only follows instructions, she also has emotions. Theodore slowly begins to develop feelings for Samantha, but can such love exist?

New York in the 1950s: Therese Belivet (Rooney Mara) works as a saleswoman and dreams of moving up in life. His wealthy client, Carol Aird (Cate Blanchett), wants to leave her husband and take sole custody of her child. Two women fall in love with each other. But Carol’s husband doesn’t give up that easily. Will Carol have to choose between her child and her lover?

Loretta Castorini (Cher), a New York accountant, falls in love with the brother of the man she is supposed to marry. Ronny (Nicolas Cage) seduces Loretta during his brother’s trip abroad. This ’80s comedy takes a tender yet humorous look at an Italian-American family struggling with the complexities of love and marriage with each generation.

Audrey Hepburn plays the bored Princess Ann, who escapes her palace for an official visit to Rome. He is picked up by American reporter Joe Bradley (Gregory Peck), who takes him home. Ann, along with herself and photographer friend Irving Radovich (Eddie Albert), spend the day getting to know the freedoms of Rome. A romance begins to develop between Joe and the princess. Will the two be able to come together despite their different lives?

In 1930s Budapest, modest Alfred Kralik (Ernst Lubtisch) and beautiful Klara Novak (Margaret Sullavan) engage in an exciting and promising correspondence without ever meeting each other. Unknowingly, the two are hired at the same gift shop, and their jobs frequently lead to arguments. Still, the two find each other friendly in person. Suddenly they begin to understand what they are to each other.

Aspiring singer Ally (Lady Gaga) meets successful rock star Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper). He takes her on tour and becomes Ally’s mentor, and Ally’s career takes off. The two fall in love, but Ally’s busy daily life as a pop singer and Jackson’s alcohol addiction put the relationship to the test. “A Star is Born” was nominated in eight categories at the 2019 Oscars. The song Shallow received the “Best Song” award.
