On New Year’s Day 2023, a life-threatening tragedy occurred in the life of Jeremy Renner. The actor, best known for his role as Hawkeye in the MCU, tried to get a broken down vehicle moving again and was hit by his own snow plow. He broke more than thirty bones and had to undergo several emergency operations, which fortunately saved his life.
After a lengthy recovery process, the actor is back on his feet more than a year later and ready to resume his old job. After appearing in the Disney+ series “Marvel’s What If…?was heard as a speaker and also for the third season of the drama series “Mayor of Kingston” stood in front of the camera, Jeremy Renner now also commented on his future with the Avengers.
Jeremy Renner wants to return to the MCU as Hawkeye
The actor explains this in an interview with , that he would be very interested in returning to the MCU as Hawkeye: “I’m always up for it. I’ll be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready. They’ve all visited me at my bedside and been by my side during my recovery, so… if they want me, they can have me. That would be something.”
Jeremy Renner has appeared as Hawkeye in a total of six MCU films to date, including ‘Thor’, ‘Black Widow’ and three of the four ‘Avengers’ films to date. In 2021, he even got his own miniseries with ‘Hawkeye’ on Disney+, containing six episodes. In a commercial set to air on February 11 during this year’s Super Bowl, the actor shows off all of his precise Hawkeye powers and jokes that it will get him “back into his routine.” A return to upcoming action hits like “Avengers 5” (Theatrical release: April 29, 2026) or “Avengers 6: Secret Wars(Theatrical release: May 5, 2027) nothing stands in the way, as long as there is room in the story for the master archer.
