These are 14 of the world’s best beaches, according to Lonely Planet

Have you already booked your summer holiday? If not, get inspired by these 14 beaches that Lonely Planet says are among the most beautiful in the world.

The book “Best Beaches: 100 of the World’s Most Incredible Beaches” will be published by Lonely Planet on February 9. The renowned Australian publisher of travel and language guides chooses the 100 most beautiful beaches in the world.

The British news platform Daily Mail was given an exclusive look and presented a selection last week.

We will now show you a selection from the selection. (Selection criteria: what just struck me.)

We start the list with Rhossili Bay. The romantic bay and beach area of the same name are located on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales.

There’s a reason the beach looks so pristine: as the website Enjoygower.com says, there’s a steep but good path that leads down the cliffs. The climb to the parking lot is a challenge.

Although this beach is good for surfing due to the strong wind, it is less ideal for swimming: the thermometer rarely rises above 19 degrees, even in summer. The website also warns of the strong tides.

Further south, in Cornwall, England, you will find Kynance Cove. However, anyone hoping for an idyllic seaside resort here will be disappointed. Here it’s just either or. You can swim in July and August (at a cool 19 degrees), but the beach is full and visitors on Tripadvisor warn about the limited parking spaces. If this doesn’t put you off, you can explore many small caves at low tide.

Idylls can only be found in the colder months and/or in bad weather. So basically always. According to reviews on Tripadvisor, the view of the bay is worth it even in bad weather.

We leave Great Britain, but stay close to the island of Ireland. There are several small islands off the west coast of Ireland. Achill Island is the largest and is home to Keem Beach. With a maximum temperature of 18 degrees in the summer and strong winds, only hardcore swimmers swim here.

Heat-loving people will have to be patient: Haukland Beach on the Lofoten Islands in Norway is also not a swimming paradise, although the turquoise blue water and white sandy beach are reminiscent of the Caribbean. If you enjoy hiking and the beauty of nature, you’ve come to the right place.

So on the next beach it is warm enough to take off your clothes. All. Clothing. Playa de Torimbia on the north coast of Spain is especially popular with nudists. Access is described by visitors as difficult and at high tide the beach shrinks to a narrow section. But when the time is right, you will be rewarded on this beach with the breathtaking view and a cool breeze in your groin area.

The next beach takes us east. More precisely to Montenegro. If you take a few euro notes in your hand, you can relax on a sun lounger with the most beautiful view of the small island of Sveti Stefan. If you want a cheaper getaway, you can lie on the pebble beach for free.

But be careful: Sveti Stefan is not so easily accessible to tourists. The island is part of a hotel complex and can therefore only be visited as a guest.

We continue south to the Greek island of Alonissos. It is part of the Northern Sporades, located in the region of Thessaly and consists of three inhabited and numerous uninhabited islands. The highlight of the beach is on the main island and offers both pebble and sandy areas. Although the beach is very popular in the summer months, visitors praise it as clean and cozy.

We stay in Greece: On the island of Andros, in the Cyclades, which is less touristically developed, there are many unspoilt beaches. But only the Paralia Tis Grias To Pidima made it onto the list. The beach is located in a bay surrounded by rock walls. It is very small and can therefore become full in the summer months. If you don’t feel like baking in the sun or get hungry, you should bring your own umbrella and food.

We continue south and reach Kabak Beach. According to a Turkish tourist site, this beach was only discovered in 1987. It is located in a protected area and therefore sunbeds and umbrellas are not allowed. Lonely Planet calls it one of Turkey’s best-kept travel secrets. Well, not for long…

We’re taking a long-haul flight (hey no, I don’t care about the climate, or what??) and land on Kaua’i, Hawaii’s fourth largest island. Hanalei Bay stretches 2 miles along the north shore and features a wide variety of restaurants, souvenir shops, and galleries.

We stay in the US, but move further north. Cannon Beach is the name of the beach located near the town of the same name in Clatsop County in the American state of Oregon. According to Lonely Planet, you can experience wildlife and a breathtaking sunset there. A popular tourist destination is also the Haystack Rock – an imposing 72 meter high monolith formed naturally by the tides.

According to Lonely Planet, the most beautiful places on the water can be found in Barbados bikini Lower bay. The beach is as you would imagine in the Caribbean: turquoise water, white sand, green palm trees. There is no infrastructure. With good reason: the waves and currents are very strong here. So if you dare to enter the water, you must be able to swim well.

On the other side of the world is Sunayama Beach on the Japanese island of Miyakojima. In color it is similar to that of Barbados, but here you can swim safely because of the calm water.

We stick to turquoise water and white sand, but geographically we make a big leap to the Seychelles off the east coast of Africa. The Anse Source d’Argent beach is located here. It is one of the most photographed beaches in the world – many tourists are sure to come here.
