They act in a mixture of reproaches and apologies

The controversial love past of Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears gave a lot to talk about this week with the exchange of apologies, hints and reproaches between both American singers.

“I would like to take this opportunity to to apologize in front of absolutely fucking nobody,” he said Timberlake to the public during her concert Wednesday at New York’s Irving Plaza, shortly before performing her 2002 song ‘Cry Me a River,’ in which she recounted Spears’ infidelity during their courtship.

Her gesture was taken by her followers as a hint to Spears, who took to Instagram on Monday to apologize to people she may have offended with what she wrote in her memoir, The Woman in Me, published in October 2023.

“I want to apologize for some of the things I wrote in my book. If I offended anyone I care about, I’m very sorry,” Spears wrote at the time.

In his book, in addition to recounting his journey to fame, the singer is dealing with a relationship which he had with Timberlake when both were at the peak of their careers, from 1999 to 2002.

Among the discoveries ‘Princess of Pop’ dshe interjected one in which she claims she got pregnant unexpectedly and had an abortion because Timberlake was “definitely not happy with the pregnancy” and didn’t want to be a father.

He also talked about the infidelity of the former member of NSYNC with another celebrity whom he did not want to name, and since then Timberlake has been constantly attacked on social networks by Spears’ followers.

The rivalry between the two also extended to music field with the recent release of the song ‘Selfish’ by Timberlake, which, while not directly referencing the singer, matches the title of a song Spears released in 2011.

Timberlake is currently preparing released their sixth album study, which will be called ‘Everything I thought it was’, and is scheduled for March 15.

Spears, for her part, recently announced that she will “never” return to the music industry and that enjoy your work which he spends as a “ghostwriter” of songs for other artists.
