Today, February 1, 2024, ‘Argylle’, the new blockbuster from ‘Kick-Ass’ and ‘Kingsman’ creator Matthew Vaughn, premieres in German cinemas. And for this the director got an illustrious cast in front of the camera: in addition to ex-witcher Henry Cavill, who should have a place in the top list of the most stylish super spies of all time with a terribly stupid haircut and suits with shoulder pads, there is also one here “Jurassic World” dinosaur expert Bryce Dallas Howard, Rebel Moon” lead actress Sofia Boutella, Catherine O’Hara (“Home Alone”), Sam Rockwell (“Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri”), pop superstar Dua Lipa (“Barbie”), “Malcolm in the Middle” family man Bryan Cranston and Hollywood veteran Samuel L. Jackson (“Pulp Fiction”) received the honor.
In addition to plenty of star power, “Argylle” also features some pretty crazy cop action – and in the style of classic pulp novels, the audience in this vibrant bubblegum James Bond adventure can never be sure whether what is shown is actually true. Because there is more dancing here than in any other dance school. The film has some unexpected twists and crazy twists, some of which will surprise even the biggest film connoisseurs.

“A cleverly constructed story and impressive star power go hand in hand in Argylle. Even if Matthew Vaughn and author Jason Fuchs occasionally conjure up a few too many silly ideas, the spy comedy is extremely entertaining.
Fans of Henry Cavill don’t have to be sad that the action star’s role may not be as big as you might think based on the trailers. If you stick around until the end credits, you’ll get a small taste of a possible sequel in a mid-credits scene. And at the same time, a crossover with another popular film series is being teased…
