Could this be a coincidence? At the beginning of “House Of The Dragon”, episode 7, Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) collects three dragon eggs from the clutch of dragon mother Syrax (the dragon of Rhaenyra). Three eggs, as he then clearly emphasizes – and that’s why “Game Of Thrones” fans inevitably think of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) and their three dragon eggs have to think, from which the dragons Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion hatch at the end of season 1. But Are these really the same eggs?
The likely answer is: no, it’s just a coincidence or possibly an ironic reference from those responsible for the series. In the original book “Fire and Blood” by George RR Martin, we learn that the baby dragons of Syrax are likely to go to the comrades-in-arms of Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), that is, to the blacks.
It’s not entirely clear, but at least in one case the matter is quite clear: Morgen (English: Morning), the dragon of Rhaena Targaryen (Phoebe Campbell), comes from one of Syrax’s eggs. They are even accurate Eggs that Rhaena will take to the Vale during the civil war between the rival Targaryen factions, and one of them will hatch tomorrow.
So this moment is probably being prepared in episode 7 of “House Of The Dragon”.especially since we also learn in ‘Fire and Blood’ that Syrax was one shortly before the outbreak of the Civil War laid piles of eggs. It must be these eggs, because after all the civil war in the series now breaks out.
From this we conclude: the three eggs in episode 7 are most likely not the same eggs that Daenerys receives as a wedding gift many years later. However, over the course of “House Of The Dragon” we were able to see where these dragon eggs come from and how they end up in Essos, east of Westeros!
The eggs of Drogon, Rhaegal & Viserion could still come
It is entirely possible that the female dragon Dreamfyre is the mother of Drogon, Rhaegal and Viserion. Dreamfire was already briefly seen in ‘House Of The Dragon’ as the mountain of Helaena Targarayen (Evie Allen/Phia Saban).
In “Fire and Blood” we learn that Dreamfire belonged many years earlier to another (!) Rhaena Targaryen (the Targaryens are unfortunately not particularly imaginative with their names), who in turn had a friend and lover named Elissa Weitmann. And one day this Elissa stole three dragon eggs and sold them in the Free City of Braavos in Essos.
To show this, ‘House Of The Dragon’ would have to differ slightly from the original book and let Dreamfire lay the eggs later. Either the people responsible for the series add a flashback (there was already one or two in ‘Game Of Thrones’) or tell other eras of the Targaryens’ history beyond the civil war called ‘Dance of the Dragons ‘. . The idea of turning ‘House Of The Dragon’ into a kind of anthology series after four seasons has actually been circulating for a long time.
