Milly Alcock will be Supergirl in the new stage of the studio DC

Milly Alcockknown for her role as Rhaenyra Targaryen in the series ‘The house of the dragon‘, will be Supergirl in the new stage of the studio DC led by Peter Safran and James Gunn.

Alcock’s certificate for the film ‘Supergirl: Women of TomorrowGunn made the announcement via his Instagram account this Monday.

“That’s right. Milly is a young actress with fantastic talent me too delights which is part of the DCU (DC Universe) (…) Embody Kara as imagined by Tom King, Bilquis Evely and Ana Nogueira,” the DC Films co-CEO wrote.

The film based on the comic book ‘Supergirl: Women of Tomorrow’, written by King (screenwriter) and Evely (illustrator), will be written by Nogueira, but it is not yet known who will be the director of the project.

The film is part of the project a reboot of the DC Comics universe called ‘Gods and Monsters’, announced by Gunn and Safran at the beginning of 2023, with which the studio wants to unite and connect in a “coherent way” the characters and stories that are part of the fictional universe of superheroes.

At the time of this announcement, Gunn announced that the film will show a different Supergirl, tougher than she’s shown before, as well as the origin woman of steel that it was raised on a rock and exposed violence and death in the first 14 years of life.
