But what about using wine glasses correctly? It may seem trivial, but professionals know this: The glass handle is full of errors.

The basic principle to get started: Keep your hands away from the bowl, i.e. the top of the wine glass. Anyone who holds the top of their glass will make many mistakes. First: The heat of your hands heats the wine unnecessarily. Second: Oily fingerprints are not at all subtle. Third: Sensual touches of the glass are sometimes interpreted as aggressive.

How to hold your wine glasses correctly?

The handle under the glass? We leave that to our winemakers to critically evaluate the color. A smooth push with the glass bottom handle can also be a bit difficult. Another cannot be done: hold the glass upside down. So always open upwards unless you really want to stand out.

This is why experienced wine professionals always hold their wine glasses by the stem in the upper half. The larger the glass, the higher up the body you need to reach to maintain balance.
