Ben Affleck and Matt Damon go together like pitch and brimstone or peanut butter and jelly. The two Hollywood veterans have proven they work well together many times over – right from the start of their careers, when they collaborated on the script for “Good Will Hunting” (and promptly won an Oscar for it).
The duo recently collaborated on the entertaining underdog story ‘Air – The Big Thing’. While Ben Affleck was responsible for directing and playing a larger supporting role, Matt Damon directed the prominent cast of Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”), Viola Davis (“The Suicide Squad”) and Chris Tucker (“The Fifth Element”) By the way, you can currently find the film, which is definitely worth watching, with a subscription to Amazon Prime Video:
Now the creative minds are coming together again and working together on ‘Animals’, a kidnapping thriller that will be made for the streaming giant Netflix.
This is what we know about ‘animals’
As with “Air – The Big Thing,” Ben Affleck and Matt Damon will once again produce the film. Former Batman actor Affleck will also return to direct the film, based on a script by Connor McIntyre, while Matt Damon will star.
There are no concrete details yet about the plot of the thriller, except that a kidnapping will be central to the plot. ‘Animals’ will be the 26th collaboration between the Hollywood friends – although they only produced the majority of these projects together. It is currently unknown when ‘Animals’ will come to Netflix. However, as the project is still in its very early stages of development, we don’t expect streaming to start before 2025.
Anyone who would like to see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon separately in front of the camera again will have the opportunity to do so later this year. Matt Damon will hit theaters on March 7, 2024 with Ethan Coen’s thriller comedy ‘Drive-Away Dolls’, while Ben Affleck will soon be replenished on streaming giant Amazon Prime Video. He will be seen in “This Is Me… Now”, the companion film to Jennifer Lopez’s new album. As JLo’s husband and long-term acquaintance, it is of course a matter of honor that Affleck plays a role in her musical experimental story about love, life and music. The film can be streamed exclusively on Prime Video from February 16.
