‘Fighter’ is Siddharth Anand’s new film – and it delivers great action. He already proved that with ‘War’ and especially last year with the crazy action hit ‘Pathaan’. For ‘Fighter’ he asked a top-class cast to appear in front of the camera.
It stars two of India’s biggest stars, Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone. Roshan already appeared in front of the director’s camera in the aforementioned ‘War’ and in ‘Bang Bang!’ and was last seen in German cinemas in the tough action film ‘Vikram Vedha’. Deepika Padukone starred in the aforementioned “Pathaan” (and in a mini role in “Jawan”). You may also know her from her brief Hollywood outing for xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage. They are supported by actor Anil Kapoor (“Animal”, “Slumdog Millionaire”), among others.
“Fighter”: Patriotic flying action
‘Fighter’ revolves around a new elite unit of the Indian Air Force that comes together when a certain threat emerges in the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. Because a terrorist wants to carry out a particularly spectacular attack. The pilots (including Roshan and Padukone) must overcome their personal differences and problems if they want to survive here and protect their country.
‘Fighter’ opens in cinemas virtually worldwide today, January 25, 2024 (In a few Middle Eastern countries, the film’s release was halted and banned at short notice – probably because of what was certainly a very one-sided portrayal of the conflict between India and Pakistan). It will be released to coincide with India’s national holiday ‘Republic Day’ on January 26, which should increase the chances that the action spectacle, which is almost certainly laden with plenty of pathos and patriotism, will become a huge box office success there. .
“Fighter” will also get a very wide release here and will be shown in cinemas throughout Germany. Importantly, however, some cinemas have only scheduled individual screenings so far, potentially increasing demand and filling up quickly. If you’re interested in the film, don’t hesitate too long.
