The winter paradise in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau makes skiers and snowboarders’ hearts beat faster. Among the most beautiful 4,000-meter peaks in the world, the Jungfrau Ski Area has 211 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes ready for snow enthusiasts.
But pictures speak louder than words; That’s why we asked you to send us your winter experiences. We received many beautiful, romantic and funny photos. We’ve featured the best in the gallery above and picked one winner from all the entries: David Schmid (41) from Steffisburg BE won the 1×2 ski pass, which the father of three can put to good use. “Whenever it’s nice, I go skiing with my family,” says the passionate winter sports enthusiast.
His wife Annemarie (39) and children Livia (11), Nadine (9) and Luca (6) like to be on both boards, as do he. “The backdrop of the Jungfrau Ski Area is simply unique with the mighty Eiger,” says Schmid. “I appreciate the diversity of the Jungfrau Ski Area and since the construction of the new Grindelwald Terminal the ski area can be easily and quickly reached by public transport.”
David Schmid also appreciates the diversity of the ski area. Gentle slopes, steep slopes, snow and amusement parks, race tracks and dusty areas. The Jungfrau Ski Area offers everything a winter heart desires. Want more inspiration?
Those who think that only children love sledding are definitely missing out. More than 50 kilometers of perfectly prepared toboggan runs await anyone who enjoys action in the Jungfrau Ski Area. The winter paradise in the Bernese Oberland even has the world’s longest toboggan run. To enjoy the 15-kilometer trail called “Big Pintenfritz” you need to follow the marked winter hiking trail from Grindelwald First to Faulhorn. You should spare two and a half hours to hike to the highest point. You will be rewarded with extraordinary all-round views of the mountains and a quick sleigh ride. Our journey back to the valley takes approximately 30 minutes.
Let’s leave the skis, snowboard and sled in the basement. The feeling of complete freedom can only be experienced in the air. Diving deep on a tightrope is definitely something for the brave. Existing in the first place is easy, freedom is unlimited. Optimally secured with a sturdy harness, up to four people race the 800 meter long zip line from First to Schreckfeld at top speeds of 84 km/h. In some places, adventure seekers soar nearly 50 meters above the mountain pastures.
Winter walking is now in fashion. No wonder, it has its own charm. You can only hear the crunch of shoes on the prepared roads. It’s even quieter if you walk with snowshoes on the soft white ground. Snowwalkers immerse themselves in magical winter landscapes, surrounded by majestic silence, away from the noise of the slopes. You can tire your feet in the Jungfrau Ski Area. It takes a long time to explore the 100 kilometers of winter hiking trails. Put on your boots, get ready, hit the road!
