After ‘Where the Lie Falls’: two (!) new films with Sidney Sweeney will appear in cinemas in February

Joining “Top Gun: Maverick” star Glen Powell, Sydney Sweeney (“The White Lotus”) is currently reviving the classic romantic comedy with “Where the Lie Falls” on the big screen. Anyone who is passionate about the genre will find something to their liking here. This is of course mainly due to the wonderful chemistry between the two stars, who expertly pass the balls to each other and effortlessly wrap the audience around their little fingers.

Now, if you’re wondering when you can next see ‘Euphoria’ star Sydney Sweeney on the big screen, don’t worry about having to wait too long in this country. Because in February 2024, two (!) films will start in which the popular actor will be involved – as the main actress and once as a fairly important supporting role.

‘Reality’: in cinemas from February 8

‘Reality’ is a true crime thriller that revolves around 25-year-old Reality Winner (Sydney Sweeney). She works for the American foreign secret service NSA – until her life suddenly turns upside down in January 2017. When she gets home, two FBI agents are already waiting for her – and they’re not exactly looking for a nice chat. The reason is also clear to her: she previously passed on secret information about Russian influence on the 2016 presidential elections to the media.

We can certainly recommend “Reality” to you. The official FILMSTARTS review gave it a solid 3.5 out of 5 possible stars. The conclusion of our author Lars-Christian Daniels is as follows: “Excitingly arranged, convincingly cast and close to the facts: with ‘Reality’, Tina Satter provides a very interesting snapshot of recent American history that is not only worth seeing in the 2024 election year.”

“Madame Web”: in theaters from February 14

Just a week later, the latest entry in the Sony Spider-Man Universe (SSU) begins with “Madame Web.” The focus here is on Cassandra Webb (Dakota Johnson), who works as a paramedic in Manhattan and has clairvoyant powers. These allow her to see into the future. But when Cassandra witnesses in her visions a man named Ezekiel Sims (Tahar Rahim) trying to kill three young women, she realizes that he is not only dangerous, but also important.

And though Cassandra can’t quite grasp what it all means, she tries to stop him from achieving his goal. She forms a partnership with three women (including Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, aka Spider Woman) to understand her past and survive the deadly present. Because Cassandra is the only person who can help them now.
