Bestselling author Harlan Coben has been working successfully with Netflix since 2018. At the time, he developed the thriller series ‘Safe’ especially for the streaming service and subsequently signed a multimillion-dollar contract that gave the provider the right to adapt numerous Coben works. After “Safe”, a total of seven miniseries based on it have already been published, of which number 7 (“In Eternal Debt”) was only released in early 2024 with great success. You can read which Coben series are already on Netflix here:
In any case, the end of the flagpole has not yet been reached. The Netflix-Coben deal will continue until at least 2027 and is expected to include seven more series during this period. After one of the upcoming projects has been known for a long time, two more series specifically have now been revealed…
These are the upcoming Harlan Coben series on Netflix
It has been clear for some time that an adaptation of the Coben novel ‘In His Hands’ is currently being made in Argentina and will be released on Netflix in 2024. The American Trade Journal has now also learned that the crime thrillers ‘I Miss You’ and ‘Don’t Look for Me’ will also be a Netflix miniseries. We will briefly introduce you to the three stories:
“In His Hands” (original title: “Caught”): When a model student disappears without a trace, a feverish search for her begins, gradually crumbling the apparently harmonious facade of a suburb.
“I miss you” (“Original title: “Missing You”): Detective Kat Donovan unexpectedly encounters her former fiancé on a dating app, who ran away years ago and soon becomes a suspect in a murder case, which confronts Kat again with her traumatic past. “I Miss You” was developed by Victoria Asare-Archer, who was already involved as an author in the Coben series “Who Once Lies”. Production is expected to begin in spring 2024.
“Don’t Look for Me” (original title “Run Away”): Family father Simon’s perfect life is thrown into disarray when his eldest daughter runs away from home and reappears in a park a short time later, completely frightened and drug-addled. To get to the bottom of the matter, Simon heads to a dark and dangerous underworld. Don’t Look For Me creator Danny Brocklehurst will serve as showrunner.
In addition, Netflix now also has the rights to Coben’s popular ‘Myron Bolitar’ series about the crime-solving sports manager of the same name. The eleven books so far could possibly form the basis of a multi-season Netflix Coben series for the first time, after Coben’s books have always been filmed there as complete miniseries with only one season each.
