It’s been over two years since the season 6 finale of the critically acclaimed fantasy series ‘Lucifer’ was released. After Fox canceled the series after three seasons, Netflix took courage and produced three more seasons, which aired in Germany on the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. The last season made it possible to complete the story surrounding the titular devil (played by Tom Ellis).
Still, fans of the series are wondering if there’s still a chance that “Lucifer” will return in some form. Tom Ellis was recently a guest on Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast”“ – and spoke on exactly this subject. As the actor makes clear, he would be willing to return, but only under one condition:
Tom Ellis would be willing to play Lucifer again
“I definitely feel like we have everything in TV. I think the only way to come back is to make a movie. And he should be good. It’s not about doing it just to get it done. We would have to approve a script and stuff like that.”
It would certainly be incredible for fans to see a ‘Lucifer’ movie that sheds light on what happens next for Lucifer and Co. after the last episodes. Perhaps the film could be about the fact that there is one last case to be solved. The fact that Tom Ellis attaches great importance to a good script is not only commendable, but also very reassuring. After all, there has to be a pretty good reason to continue “Lucifer” again.
Currently no plans exist in this direction. Whether ‘Lucifer’ will return again remains doubtful for the time being. If you haven’t seen the series yet, you can watch Amazon Prime Video in Germany. All six seasons are available there. There will also be a reunion with Tom Ellis in February – in the Netflix rom-com ‘Players’. You can watch the trailer here:
