Fortunately, Long Covid is now recognized as a phenomenon in the professional world: a Long Covid consultation has been taking place at the Zurich Children’s Hospital and the Triemli Hospital for a long time. Rehabilitation clinics and acupuncture therapists have also adapted. So get the support you need, put your child on sick leave, and work with the hospital to develop a phased attendance plan. It’s better to go to school for an hour or two each day and then slowly recover, than to lie in bed Monday and Tuesday morning to evening and then to bed for the rest of the week. Long Covid means you can only do as much as you want – anything beyond that throws you right back.
Contact the school administration directly with a doctor’s prescription and contact the education department if you are not being taken seriously there either. It may not seem like it right now, but in the end, you have the upper hand.
