Sound bars are extremely practical: they noticeably amplify the TV sound without taking up much space. But not every soundbar convinces. There are many products, especially in the entry-level segment, that are not convincing acoustically. Surround sound in particular often falls by the wayside. Not so with this one Teufel Cinebar 11which was declared test winner at Stiftung Warentest.

Teufel Cinebar 11: Impressive sound for a low price makes it the test winner
Stiftung Warentest awarded the Cinebar 11, which is always sold in the “2.1 set”, a grade of Good (2.4). This made it the test winner in the ‘Soundbars with separate subwoofer’ category. The trade magazine Hifi.de was also impressed by the sound quality of the soundbar. In addition to the sound, the different sound modes, ease of use and flexible positioning of the subwoofer were praised.
The Teufel Cinebar 11 is equipped with top class equipment: Internal Dynamore technology creates a virtual surround sound that can be seen or heard. There are three different sound modes intended for different situations. With the voice mode you can understand dialogues better, while with the night mode you can enjoy clear action movies even late at night without waking up the whole neighborhood.
What is missing from the Cinebar 11? Unfortunately, there is no WiFi and therefore no direct streaming connection. What is not a problem with films and series, is more annoying with music streaming. An option to listen to music from Spotify, Apple Music and Co. directly via the soundbar. to listen would have been desirable. 3D sound in the form of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X is also missing, but this is more than compensated for by the aforementioned Dynamore technology.
Denon soundbar for under 200 euros: the even cheaper alternative
The Denon DHT-S217 is a 2.1 soundbar with built-in subwoofer. You can get it for just 159 euros on Amazon and it’s really impressive.
Due to its slim appearance, the soundbar can make quite a bit of noise. The volume and bass are impressive and thanks to the Denon Dialogue Enhancer, speech intelligibility is surprisingly good. Even virtual Dolby Atmos is supported, but you shouldn’t expect too much from the 3D sound, as the compact design has its sonic limitations.
