class = “sc-cffd1e67-0 fmXrkB”>

Sumatran tigers are critically endangered.

It has not yet been shown to zoo visitors. The tiger’s parents are called Tila and Kasih. Anne was born in 2011 at Chester Zoo in England. Baba Kasih was born in 2014 at Beauval Zoo in France.

“This is a very significant and very important birth from a scientific point of view, because the Sumatran tiger, which lives in the tropical forests of the Indonesian island, is one of the six living subspecies that are in danger of extinction,” the Rome zoo said in a statement.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Sumatran tigers are in danger of extinction. The number of big cats currently living in the wild is estimated to be fewer than 400. Not only are poachers targeting them, but rampant deforestation is also severely restricting their habitat.
