Have we always been eating Pringles and other stacked chips wrong?

Stacked chips like Pringles or Pom-Bear Grizzlies differ from standard chips in more than just their recipe. Their shape is also special. On the one hand, it ensures that the crispy snack can be transported and stored in a space-saving and break-free manner. But because of the packaging, the chips often have their pitfalls, which most people only notice while snacking.

Many stacked chips often only have one side seasoned. Namely the bottom. It is therefore much tastier than the top. The Pringles brand also explains this on its website.

So if you don’t want to eat seemingly boring chips, put the snack in your mouth so that the curve points upwards. This means that the herbal powder comes into contact with the taste receptors on the tongue more quickly. The chips taste much more aromatic. However, if you like it less spicy, simply turn the chip over.

However, the problem does not occur with standard chips or tortillas from the bag. Because they are loose in the package, every time they are shaken they are actually marinated with the spice powder contained in the entire bag.

However, it may happen that the top chips taste blander and more boring than the bottom ones. The reason: Despite shaking, the herb powder collects at the bottom after a short time. To prevent this, simply turn the bag upside down and then open the bottom of the package. With this trick, the spice powder that has collected at the bottom of the package drips over the chips and down onto the “new” bottom of the bag.
