Good news for all Jigsaw fans: this is the idea that the makers of “Saw X” have in mind for “Saw 11”.

After some disappointing franchise entries like ‘Saw: Spiral’, which not only achieved lackluster results at the box office but also weren’t particularly well received by the trade press, James Wan’s horror franchise found its way back into the fold with ‘Saw ‘,” released in 2023 Follow the path to success. Although it’s in the bottom third of the ‘Saw’ saga’s total box office, its $110 million is still a respectable success, showing that audiences seem to be enjoying the brand again.

A key factor for success is also the return of the Tobin Bell starred fan favorite John Kramer, who as chief torturer Jigsaw once again manipulated his victims into cruel devices. Of course, those familiar with the series know that he died in “Saw III,” so continuing the franchise with this character is extremely difficult.

Producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules know this too, and they have now commented on the future of the series in an interview and revealed that they are planning a role with Jigsaw in “Saw 11”.

Is “Saw 11” also playing in Mexico?

In an interview with the (through ), producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules revealed that they already have a few ideas in mind to continue the torture series’ story:

“Cecilia [Anm. d. Red.: Die Gegenspielerin aus ‚Saw X‘] is still alive and Tobin and Shawnee are still in a foreign land. So for me that would be the natural place for the next part to take place.”

In “Zag Maar the fraudsters wanted to take money from the pockets of the wrong victim, because Kramer still had some torture instruments in the basement ready to be used. Since Cecilia Pederson survives at the end of the film, it would make sense to add another episode where Kramer completes his work in Mexico.

This means that the next part would also take place between “Saw” and “Saw II”. – and make the franchise’s timeline a little more complicated. However, nothing is yet known about the cast of the latest part. It remains to be seen whether ‘Saw’ icon Tobin Bell will once again use questionable methods to judge his victims in a sequel.

Is there a sequel to “Saw: Spiral”?

In the interview with the (through ), the producers were also approached about a sequel to “Saw: Spiral”. Given the rather modest box office results, the answer was quite diplomatic – even if the producers are still keeping the door open for a return:

“Maybe one day we’ll make another sequel. Chris Rock would love to do one, but our focus is on ‘Saw 11’ due to the success and response of ‘Saw.
