The Laura dilemma

Hanna and I won’t be a couple. And Hanna isn’t Emma either. Unlike Hanna, Emma and I went on a date once. did we have sex? I won’t tell.

Forget it. We didn’t have sex. I’ll tell you why not another time. Otherwise it would be too long. I don’t want to write about Emma here. Nor about Hannah. But I would also like to say to Hanna that you entertained us very much with your wild fantasies about the future. Why do you think? Have you all watched “Harry meets Sally” too many times?

The story I want to tell is about Laura. All men have a Laura in life. The Lauras are really cool women, but somehow the tacit agreement was made with them that nothing would ever work out. Not because you don’t want to. Laura’s are relaxed, easy going, fun. You can tell in the first second that they are super smart which is 100% intimidating for some guys. They are too nice to be pushy or give lame compliments. The Lauras are single, but somehow no one knows what’s wrong with them. But my Laura my Laura everything but “mine” looks really good, I think. Good face, not average. Quite a deep voice and a good, loud laugh. Not that coy, stifled giggle.

Worse than a giggle is a high-pitched laugh! I recently came across one. Sounded like a siren! Horrible!

So we were in this club when Laura came. Because Laura is friends with Hanna around the corner, I see her sometimes. Which I always like, because I like Laura. She made it clear from the start that Laura was not interested in me. She didn’t even respond to my jokes, she pretended not to hear my compliments and went straight into buddy mode. It contains a lot of sarcasm, but no flirty sarcasm, more like: don’t even try sarcasm. So I switched to buddy mode pretty quickly – I don’t want to bother myself unnecessarily – and since then we always get along really well when we see each other somewhere.

That night Laura told me about a boy she had just finished a story with. He is a successful DJ and lives in Berlin – what else! – and I told you about Sina – not exciting for you because yes, logically she contacted me again and yes, she came over and yes, logically we had sex and of course it’s pointless and we don’t even have to talking about this i know all this myself – we had a few shots and i stood there rocking while she and hanna danced and when i didn’t want to stand anymore i went home.

The next morning Laura wrote to me on Instagram why I didn’t say goodbye. That I would tell her about sex in such detail – I didn’t! – she would find it exhausting, but there is really no way to say goodbye to her.

I replied that I was sorry and that next time I would of course say goodbye properly.

She wrote: “I hope so too! Otherwise I don’t think you’re the most attractive man in town…”

For any other woman I would say she should IMMEDIATELY get by. But folks, this is Laura we’re talking about. And Laura is just a Laura.
