It’s really not every day that a superhero movie gets a whopping 4.5 out of 5 stars in the FILMSTARTS review. “The Flash” accomplished this feat. It’s all the more unfortunate that this gem of everything failed at the box office – and is one of the biggest Hollywood box office flops in recent memory. Therefore, we can only advise the many film and superhero fans who did not go to the cinema for Barry Allen’s solo adventure to catch up on the film at home. “The Flash” on WOW: The Best DC Movie Since “The Dark Knight”!
With ‘The Flash’, director Andy Muschietti (‘ES 1+2’) finally ventures into the Multiverse in the DC Universe and knows how to push the right buttons with his audience in a unique way. In addition to main actor Ezra Miller and Michael Keaton, who reprises the role of the Dark Knight more than 30 years after Tim Burton’s ‘Batman’, you can expect not only familiar faces from the DCEU (such as Michael Shannon as General Zod), but very lots of guest appearances – which of course we don’t want to spoil at this point.
There is still some room for improvement when it comes to the oft-criticized special effects, but this has little impact on the entertainment value of the multiverse adventure. And so the FILMSTARS review not only describes the film as the best DC film since Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight”. The conclusion is also: “With the immensely entertaining, heartbreaking ‘The Flash’, where DC nostalgia abounds, the outgoing DCEU really hits the road again!”
