Looking for a family-friendly pre-Christmas TV show without the punches, jabs and quick one-liners from ‘Die Hard’ star Bruce Willis? For December 23, 2023, we have a very special TV tip for you, which is guaranteed to enchant you with its visual power – and shows that to see fascinating worlds you do not have to travel to Pandora with the “Avatar” films, but would rather stay on our earth.
So gather grandma, grandpa and your children together will also sit together in front of the television on December 23 at 8:15 PM for the powerful nature documentary “Our Earth 2” run. We guarantee you: More beautiful images have rarely been seen in cinemas in recent years. And here they don’t come from the computer, but 39 (!) cameramen traveled around the world to capture breathtaking scenes.
‘Our Earth 2’ was the sequel to the 2018 documentary hit ‘Our Earth 2’.Our earth“ in cinemas – with 3.8 million viewers, the first part is still one of the most successful documentaries in German film history. Both films not only show overwhelmingly beautiful nature shots, but also follow a certain dramaturgy, so that Günther Jauch plays the leading role as narrator in the German version of part 2.
In ‘Our Earth’ it was a journey from north to south, in ‘Our Earth 2’ all times of the day are discussed, from sunrise until deep into the night. And at night (or during the day in the darkness of the ocean depths) nature begins to glow…
“Our Earth 2”: The beauty of nature is often copied in science fiction films
Blockbuster director James Cameron also used the phenomenon of bioluminescence, which you can see in our news photo above, for his ‘Avatar’ films to create impressive images. Nearly all creatures native to Pandora have the ability to emit light, and in “Avatar” and “Avatar 2: The Way Of Water” there is often plenty of glow.
In our natural world, not the entire planet glitters – but the fact that the images in “Our Earth 2” are real and not from the computer makes it that much more impressive when a mushroom simply glows as if you turned on the light switch.
The illuminated images are just a fraction of the fascinating images from ‘Our Earth 2’. Even in full daylight and without any light, photos of panda bears, hummingbirds, penguins, whales, giraffes, etc. are beautiful to look at. The conclusion our four star review: “’Our Earth 2′ is a phenomenally illustrated nature documentary that will amaze you and is in no way inferior to its predecessor.” It won’t get any better on television this year!
