Colombian singer and composer Manuel Turizo gave a very special free concert at the Dieciocho de Junio Stadiumlegs. .
Turizo was painted this year red and green to become the living spirit of Christmas giving those who grew up with him a festive concert, after releasing his urban-tinged version of Michael Bublé’s classic ‘It’s Starting to Look a Lot Like Christmas’.
This is how he interpreted it in his concert this thursday. “I am very happy that my city can see what happened to that child who left Montería a few years ago,” said the 23-year-old artist in an interview with EFE before the concert.
“7. In December 2016, I sang for you for the first and last time public event“. It was a day after he released his first song, “I never imagined that I would see this stadium full,” said the Colombian, his voice broken and on the verge of tears.
Turizo reviewed in front of more than 14,000 people songs from the last album ‘2000’, which he just presented on his world tour, along with hits from the previous albums ‘Dopamina’ (2021) and ‘ADN’ (2019) such as ‘Culpables’ or ‘Te quemaste’.
With theirs eight dancers and his brother on stage, as usual, Manuel is “fulfilling his dream”, to live from his music.
– Music gave direction to my life – he said excitedly before going on stage.
Very special guests
The Colombian did not monopolize free concertsince the gift was completed by artists like Camilo or Nicky Jam who joined him on stage.
The two Colombians shared a ‘rich life’, Camilo’s song as a surprise for the audience that is very dedicated to this collaboration.
Each artist who came out to sing with Manuel was gifted a vueltiao hat that he signed as a memento of the day for his friends, like the one he himself wore when he came out to sing ‘De Monday a Monday’, his song in collaboration with Grupo Frontera playing, after a couple of drinks of the classic Colombian ‘guara’ (aguardiente).
He did not forget his brother Julián Turiz, whom he took to all his concerts and with whom he started one as special as the one in the city that raised them.
The first year when we started traveling, we took with us ‘Sensei’, the first producer who believed in us’, he said while introducing him to sing ‘Slave of your kisses’, a song they composed together.
To the already present heat Hunting Added to that was the spectacle of fire and pyrotechnics that the Tourists provided to the large stadium.
