Platja des Coll Baix, Majorca

Coll Baix beach is located in a secluded bay on the north-eastern side of Mallorca. If you want to swim here, you must first take a rocky hiking trail – but it’s worth it! Because the view from the rocks above the bay is magnificent. There is no infrastructure, but not many people come here. Perfect for a quiet beach day!

Fly: The nearest town, Alcúdia, is also worth a visit. There are also beautiful beaches here and the old town reflects the true Mallorcan atmosphere with its streets.

2

Cala des Moro, Majorca

Located at the southern tip of Mallorca, Cala des Moro beach is one of the quietest beaches on the Balearic island. Cala des Moro can be easily reached via a rocky hiking trail of approximately two kilometers or by boat. However, the bay is very small. When the tide rises, the small beach becomes so submerged that there is almost no pier left. Advantage: The bay is completely natural.

Fly: The small town of Cala Figuera is not far away. There is also a beautiful bay and a fishing port with several restaurants.

3

Cala d’Es Portixol, Ibiza

Along the north coast of Ibiza there are many secluded bays that are rarely visited by crowds of tourists. Those traveling by boat have the best access to secluded beaches. Those who want to swim in peace are protected from the surf by rocks. The beach at d’Es Portixol in Ibiza has only a few fishing huts and no tourist infrastructure. Since the beach is very far you have to share the small beach with some nudists.

4

Cala Mastella, Ibiza

Although Ibiza is primarily known for its international party scene, many visitors also come here for relaxed beach holidays. Because the island is a real beauty. If you’ve rented a car and are looking for something, you’ll find many beautiful and often little-visited swimming bays. One of these is Cala Mastella beach on the northeastern coast. The bay is an underwater paradise with low cliffs perfect for snorkeling. Since the beach is very small and there is an authentic and famous restaurant here, it is worth visiting early for more peace and quiet.

5

Playa del Silencio, Asturias

In the north of Spain is the Beach of Silence (Playa del Silencio), which resembles the coastal landscape of Thailand with its crescent-shaped 500-meter-long bay. The offshore rocks keep out the surf and are perfect for swimming. But be careful: There are some hidden rocks in the water. Landing in the bay is not that easy either. There are now stairs with railings for easy access to the beach.

Fly: Since the beach is flooded, it is a good idea to check tide times the day before your visit. You can stay here for a few hours when the water recedes.

6

Playa de Gulpiyuri, Asturias

An outstanding beach is Gulpiyuri beach in Asturias. It is about a hundred meters from the shore. Water comes here through a system of underwater caves, forming a small, secluded bay where the water is always calm. It is useful to plan ahead as the water level depends on the tide and does not rise above waist height. At high tide, almost the entire coastline disappears under water, while at low tide the water flows into the sea through an underground cave passage.

Fly: The beach is quite popular. If you want to be alone, you should plan your visit for the morning hours.

7

Cala Sa Cova, Catalonia

The small bay Cala Sa Cova is located near the resort town of Playa d’Aro on Costa Brava. If you do not want to get involved in the crowd on the long main beach, you can go to the neighboring bay. This area, protected by the surrounding rocks and trees, can be easily reached via the coastal road. It can get crowded during the holiday season, but most of the time the atmosphere here is pleasant and relaxed. This place is truly magical, especially at sunset.

Fly: If you want to explore the area after visiting the beach, follow the coastal road. It stretches along many beautiful bays.
