Artists at the top of US Hispanic searches

The song “Sessions, Vol. 53” by Colombian artist Shakira and Argentina’s Bizarrapa, as well as information about singer Peso Pluma, topped the list of Spanish-language search trends in the United States on Google this year.

Which songs set the trend?
As the tech giant announced this Monday, in terms of songs, the most trending track this year is La Sessions, Vol. 53, which was released on January 11 and has YouTube – which is part of Google – more than 650 million views.

While in the second, third, fourth and fifth place are the songs in which the Mexican artist Peso Pluma participated: La people, AMG, El Azul and PRC.

The question “Where…?”
Featherweight also tops other lists such as “Where…?”, as the first question is “Where is Featherweight from?”, followed by “Where did the Titanic sink?” and “Where to watch the World Baseball Classic?”

The question “Who?”
As well as the category “Who?”, where the first question is “Who is Perolako’s father?”, and then “Who is Lele Pons?” and “Who’s playing in the Gold Cup today?”

The Mexican artist also appears in the Google search trend with the question “What is…?”, but in fourth place, with the question “What is Featherweight?”, behind “What is implosion?” ? -probably to make sense of the Titan submarine implosion in June-, “What is Oxycontin?” and “What is sapiosexual?”

Messi and Inter Miami
Messi’s arrival at Inter Miami this year was also among the search trends in the “How…?” category, as “How is Inter Miami doing?” came in second place, while the search for information about the television program La casa de Los celebrities with the question: “How to vote in La casa de los celebrities?”

Featherweight is also seen in this category, in fifth place, with the question “What is the name of Featherweight?”

recipes
The last category shared by Google is dedicated to recipes, where the predominant trend was the search for instructions on how to make “charro beans”, followed by other dishes such as “Cuban de ropavieja”, “oatmeal cookies” and “lasagna”.

Google explains in a statement that to create these lists, it analyzed the most popular searches, “those that had the largest increase in traffic over a long period in 2023 compared to 2022.”
