This is how Meg Ryan has changed since ‘Sleepless in Seattle’.

In the film ‘Sleepless in Seattle’, little Jonah (Ross Malinger) sets up his widowed father Sam (Tom Hanks) with journalist Annie, played by Meg Ryan. She was 31 years old at the time, wore her hair quite long and usually tied it in a braid in the romantic stripe. Today Meg Ryan is 62 years old.

From 1981 to 1998, she appeared in at least one film every year. Then it became quieter around her and finally completely calm. But she has just celebrated her comeback – with the romantic comedy ‘What Happens Later’, which hit cinemas in early November. Meg Ryan plays the lead role of Willa alongside David Duchovny and also directed the film.

As part of her comeback, Meg Ryan made more public appearances again – for example on Jimmy Kimmel’s late night show a few weeks ago, at the premiere of her film or at photo shoots in addition to interviews in various magazines.

Before returning to the public and screen, she last appeared in front of the camera in 2015 for a feature film: ‘Ithaca’, which also starred Tom Hanks. The two filmed together again and again. They starred in both “Sleepless in Seattle” and 1998’s “em@il für Dich,” each playing a couple in love.

Meg Ryan was married to actor Dennis Quaid from 1991 to 2001. Together they have a son, Jack. The now 31-year-old is also active as an actor. In 2006, Meg Ryan also adopted a girl from China. The now 19-year-old’s name is Daisy True. After an eight-year relationship, the Sleepless in Seattle actress announced her engagement to American singer-songwriter John Mellencamp in November 2018, but the two called it quits the following year.
