The nasty twist of the first “Saw” is legendary: only at the very end does it become apparent that the alleged murderer Zepp (Michael Emerson) is just another victim of Jigsaw and that the real trapper was lying in the bathroom as a fake. whole time, in which Adam (Leigh Whannell) and Dr. Gordon (Cary Elwes) was chained up. Since then, virtually every installment of the series has conjured up a more or less successful final twist at the end. The tenth part “Saw X” is no exception.
We want to unravel what exactly happens at the end of the latest franchise entry – and what the cameo appearance in the end credits is all about…
Jigsaw’s revenge
Following the events of “Saw 1,” terminally ill Jigsaw killer John Kramer (Tobin Bell) sets out to undergo a promising experimental cancer treatment in Mexico, but ultimately discovers that he has fallen victim to an insidious fraud scheme. But of course Jigsaw won’t let that go. To bring them to justice, he seizes those responsible around the unscrupulous Cecilia Pederson (Synnøve Macody Lund) and, with the help of his partner Amanda (Shawnee Smith), quickly places her in his infamous torture traps.
In the middle of the usual bloody tests, Parker (Steven Brand), who has also been allegedly deceived by Pederson and Co., suddenly appears – but it soon turns out that he is actually Pederson’s lover, who was also involved in the fraud. At gunpoint, he eventually forces John and Amanda to release Pederson – who then single-handedly kills her only remaining comrade-in-arms, who had actually managed to survive Jigsaw’s fall.
But that’s not all: John himself is put in a kind of waterboarding trap together with the little boy Carlos (Jorge Briseño), whom he befriended earlier in the film and who happens to be hanging out in the building where they are together. running into danger to drown in blood.
But the real twist only comes afterwards…
This is how “Saw X” ends
Because, as is typical of Jigsaw, he saw it all coming – or at least almost everything. It turns out that taxi driver Diego (Joshua Okamoto), who is also involved in Pederson’s criminal activities, has already revealed to John that Parker is also involved. Amanda also learned that Pederson was trying to contact Parker via cell phone (which is why he showed up on the scene in the first place).
John and Amanda set a trap for Pederson and Parker – and accepted that they themselves would be put into one of their own death machines (which is probably why it turns out to be quite innocuous compared to John’s other extremely nasty inventions). The fact that Carlos ultimately has to pass the blood test with Jigsaw instead of Amanda is the only point that didn’t go according to John’s plan. But that doesn’t change its success.
When Pederson and Parker go to John’s control room to retrieve the stolen money, they activate a mechanism that locks the room and fills it with a deadly gas. A head-sized hole in the wall allows only one of them to gasp for air and avoid instant death from the gas. Here, Pederson wins the race after killing Parker, but he can still only watch as John, Amanda and Carlos leave her behind…
Comeback in “Saw 11”: What Happens to Cecilia Pederson?
In fact, it may come as a surprise at first that John simply leaves THE mastermind of all fraudsters alive. Should a backdoor be left open for a revenge story in a possible “Saw 11”? We rather doubt that. Yes, it’s true that John doesn’t just make short work of Pederson after she escapes the gas. After all, his twisted moral code forbids him to kill anyone in this way. However Pederson may have initially escaped death, but there is still no way out of the room she was locked in. So unless she suddenly develops miraculous powers that can escape, It is likely that she will slowly but surely starve or die of thirst.
John, Amanda and Carlos, on the other hand, leave the area, almost like a small family, hopefully heading towards the sunrise. And as we know thanks to “Saw 2,” John and Amanda will set up the next torture parkour soon after. What happens to Carlos, however, is unclear; despite the traumatic experience, he will probably just return to his normal life in Mexico (let’s hope he doesn’t one day emulate his great savior Jigsaw).
Detective Hoffman returns

This is Detective Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor), who worked with John during the ‘Saw’ franchise or with Amanda and Jigsaw’s wife Jill (Betsy Russell), who later fought primarily to become Jigsaw’s legitimate successor after his death.
