Many people mourn the end of summer as the weather has gotten cooler. But there is one thing you cannot ignore about autumn and winter: only at these times of the year is it really comfortable at home. There is almost nothing better than curling up on the couch after a walk with a hot chocolate and watching your favorite movie again. And the best part: you can do so much more with cocoa powder than just the classic hot chocolate.

Here are seven cocoa chocolate recipes you should try this fall:

Is a normal hot chocolate too boring for you? Then try it with a little spice and add some chili pepper! This is how the Mayans and Aztecs preferred to drink it thousands of years ago. You can adjust the spiciness by halving the chili pepper and removing it from your hot chocolate after a few minutes.

Do you want your brownies to be extra moist and fudgy? At the same time, you don’t want to do witchcraft in the kitchen? No problem, you can also make brownies with cocoa powder instead of melted chocolate, so you only need five minutes to make the dough. And don’t worry, the brownies still taste really chocolatey.

The most popular alcoholic drink in autumn and winter is probably mulled wine. Slightly less known, but just as delicious is Lumumba, a hot chocolate with rum. Instead of rum you can also use vodka or whiskey – whatever you prefer.

Cookies come in all different types, so why not vegan? The cookies are in no way inferior to cookies made with animal products. It’s best to see for yourself and just try them out.

Oatmeal has been around for a long time, but porridge is always possible! The popular and healthy breakfast can easily be flavored with a little cocoa and chocolate. If you don’t have much time in the morning, you can also make overnight oats by preparing the chocolate-banana porridge in the evening and placing it in the refrigerator overnight.

Fancy the afternoon? You don’t always have to resort to unhealthy snacks. Instead, try so-called energy balls, a kind of healthy chocolate praline. Dates provide the necessary sweetness. It may sound strange to many people, but the energy balls are super tasty. If you want, you can also add grated coconut.

Enough healthy: Finally there is another real soul food recipe. Of course you can top your cocoa with cream in the classic way, but small marshmallows provide that little bit extra. You can buy them exactly as they are in the supermarket, or you can take the large marshmallows and cut them into the desired size.

With this drink you will immediately feel transported back to your childhood – now curl up on the couch and under the cozy blanket!
