The tough action spectacle comes to Netflix just a month after its theatrical release

If you are really lucky, you can currently catch the Indian action thriller “Leo” on the big screen. The film has been showing there since October 19, 2023 and there are still a few screenings. But if not, you won’t have to wait long for the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle.

Because Netflix will release ‘Leo’ worldwide from November 28, 2023 (in India even from November 24). This means there is only about a month between the theatrical launch and the Netflix launch.

“Leo” – in the wake of “A History Of Violence” and part of the LCU!

“Leo” is a loose remake of David Cronenberg’s excellent thriller “A History Of Violence”. The focus is on family man Parthi (Joseph Vijay), who not only runs a small cafe in a quiet town, but also enjoys saving animals. He just rescued a hyena (!) and took it into his home.

But when his shop is robbed and he reveals surprising skills by killing all the attackers, his former calm is gone. His action ends up in the national news and soon it is not only the family members of the attackers who are looking for revenge. There is a suspicion that Parthi is the son of a gang boss who was believed to be dead and has already killed many people…

Soon Parthi alias Leo has to defend himself against his skin – with a hammer and his hyena…

By the way, “Leo” is part of the LCU – but don’t worry. You don’t have to suddenly catch up on twenty movies or something like the MCU of the same name. The Lokesh Cinematic Universe will direct a series of films Lokesh Kanagaraj mentioned, which all take place in the same world, but are almost completely independent so far. “Kaithi” and “Vikram” were released before “Loki” – but the author of these lines can also make absolute recommendations to all fans of action and suspense. The connections between the individual films have been marginal thus far, mostly limited to mini-cameos or brief moments at the end.

This will only change in the future. A film is planned that will see the anti-heroes at the center of the individual films meet. This is likely to be a mega event in India. The previous films were already very successful. ‘Leo’ also broke several box office records in its home country and is one of the most successful films of 2023 so far.
