Johnny Depp’s daughter is chased by a legendary horror figure: first image from the highly anticipated remake of “Nosferatu”

Robert Eggers has made a name for himself lately as a director of sophisticated horror entertainment. With “The Witch” and “The Lighthouse,” he has made some of the most exciting genre entries in recent years. His films are not just simple horror stories or entertaining horror excursions, but rather profound investigations into human fear and the power of suggestion. After a brief foray into blood-soaked Viking action with ‘The Northman’, Eggers now returns to the horror genre.

In 2024 he will bring a remake of the silent film classic ‘Nosferatu – A Symphony of Horror’ to the cinemas. Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s vampire horror is one of the most important representatives of the genre and is still deeply rooted in pop culture. In particular, Max Schreck’s dehumanized portrayal of Count Orlok transformed the character into an imposing, gruesome figure that has lost hardly any of its ominous aura to this day.

Now there’s a first image from the ‘Nosferatu’ remake, showing the shadow of Orlok’s long fingers looming menacingly Lily Rose Depp lies. The daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis will play the role of Ellen Hutter, the fiancée of real estate agent Thomas Hutter (Nicholas Hoult), who falls victim to the count in the Carpathians in the film. Their presence eventually lures Orlok to the port city of Wisborg, where he brings death and disaster to the inhabitants. We have attached the photo here for you:

This is what we know about “Nosferatu”

Nosferatu“ is expected to make its way to theaters in 2024. In addition to Nicholas Hoult and Lily-Rose Depp, who embody the young Hutter couple, the casting of Count Orlok should especially make horror fans happy. Bill Skarsgård was hired for this role, having already demonstrated his talent for obscure characters as the horror clown Pennywise in the ‘IT’ films.

Willem Dafoe (“Spider-Man”), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kick-Ass”) and “The Crown” star Emma Corrin will also appear on camera. We’ll probably find out next year whether the remake ultimately equals the greatness of the original or Werner Herzog’s no less brilliant reinterpretation.
