A unique Christmas atmosphere is born in the city of Limmat. There are currently five Christmas markets in Zurich. The most popular are the Dörfli Christmas market in Zurich Niederdorf and the Christmas village in Bellevue. “Dörfli” on Sechseläutenplatz in front of the opera house takes up almost the entire area and consists of around 120 stalls. This may be the only address for gourmets: The Christmas Village in Bellevue is a culinary market with a variety of food stalls. You can safely abandon the classic fondue and raclette and try something bolder: Tibetan, Indian, Mexican or Scandinavian specialties. The City Christmas Market between Jelmoli and Globus stores is ideal for anyone looking to take a break from Christmas shopping. The Singing Christmas Tree on Werdmühleplatz is a particular attraction. The weekend of December 2nd and 3rd will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Singing Christmas Tree. Guests can look forward to a series of special shows and performances.
During the Christmas season, Europaallee becomes the Christmas street under a Christmas-lit sky, with delicious delicacies, culinary delights and beautiful design products and craftsmanship that invite you to linger and “Gschänkli-Poschte” in the pre-Christmas period.
