Gastro Ticino President Massimo Suter confirmed to the Keystone-SDA news agency from “Corriere del Ticino” on Saturday that there was a decrease of between 30 and 50 percent in applications in the catering industry.
In the Ticino sector, there was a decrease of up to 50 percent in applications from Italy compared to the previous year. When asked by Keystone-SDA, Ticino industrial association director Stefano Modenini said this was the result of a survey among several dozen medium-sized companies.
Under the new agreement, Switzerland will keep 80 percent of the withholding tax on the income of Italian cross-border travelers. New cross-border travelers are also taxed appropriately in their country of residence.
