It wasn’t until February of this year that Disney delighted fans of the ‘Frozen’ series with the announcement of a third installment. Although ‘Frozen 3’ currently does not have a theatrical release date and details about the sequel’s story are still scarce, Disney CEO Bob Iger surprised fans of Elsa, Anna and Olaf with another piece of good news.
The boss of the mouse company explains this in an interview that Disney is currently working not only on ‘Frozen 3’, but also on ‘Frozen 4’: “I have a little surprise for you, Michael. ‘Frozen 3’ is in the works and maybe ‘Frozen 4’ is in the works too.” But take a look at the clip for yourself:
‘Frozen’ director Jennifer Lee is also involved in the sequels
Iger revealed that Jennifer Lee, the creative mind behind the “Frozen” series, is already actively involved: “I can’t say much about either film yet. But Jenn Lee, who created “Frozen,” including “Frozen” and “Frozen 2,” is working with her team at Disney Animation on not just one, only two stories.”
Just a few months ago, Jennifer Lee reported that she would no longer be in the director’s chair for ‘Frozen 3’ after co-directing parts 1 and 2 with director Chris Buck. As Chief Creative Officer at Disney, she would still be involved in the series as an advisory body.
It is not yet known when we can expect “Frozen 3” or even “Frozen 4”. The time until then should be relayed by the podcast “Disney’s Frozen: Forces Of Nature,” which takes place 12 episodes into the story after “Frozen 2” and “Frozen 3” and takes us back to Arendelle.
