Latin American women going for the Miss Universe 2023 crown

Everything is ready for the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, which will take place on November 18 in El Salvador.

The event, which will be held at the José Adolfo Pineda National Gymnasium, will feature 90 women from around the world competing for the Miss Universe title.

These participants were selected through events that included personal statements, in-depth interviews, evening gowns and swimwear.

Who are the Latin candidates who want to win the crown of Miss Universe 2023?

Argentina, Yamile Dajud

She is 27 years old and works in social communications, studies law and recently completed a specialization in public opinion and political marketing.

Brazil, Maria Brechane

It is originally from Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. She is 19 years old and according to her networks she is a model, actress and beauty queen. Marija, who is a journalism student.

Miss Bolivia, María Estefany Rivero Giesse

María Estefany Rivero Giesse is an architect and model. She is 26 years old and originally from Trinidad, Bolivia.

Chile, Celeste Viel

Celeste Viel Caballero is a 23-year-old Chilean model and health coach who will represent her country at the next Miss Universe pageant.

Colombia, Camila Avella

She is 27 years old and originally from the town of Yopal, in Casanare, Colombia. Camila is married to textile businessman Nassif Kamle and they are the parents of a daughter.

Costa Rica, Lisbeth Valverde

She graduated from the National University of Costa Rica as a special education teacher, is also a model, an entrepreneur and defines herself as “a lover of wildlife protection and social work”.

Ecuador, Delary Stoffers

She is 23 years old and a student of business administration and has a career as a model.

El Salvador, Isabella Garcia-Manzo

She will be the representative of El Salvador, the host country of this year’s edition of Miss Universe. Isabella is 20 years old and is currently a student in hospitality business administration.

Guatemala, Michelle Cohn

Michelle Cohn is 28 years old and a mother of two children. According to local media, she graduated in public image and media from Galileo University.

Honduras, Zu Clemente

Known as Zu, the 22-year-old will represent Honduras at the Miss Universe pageant. The young woman is a well-known face in her homeland, as she worked as a television host for a local network.

Mexico, Melissa Flores

Melissa Flores was crowned with the title of Universal Mexican and will represent Mexico at the Miss Universe pageant. Melissa Flores is 25 years old and graduated in psychology, and she finished her studies in March of this year.

Nicaragua, SHeynnis Palacios

Sheynnis Palacios, 23, is originally from Managua, Nicaragua and has a degree in communications. Her foray into beauty pageants is nothing new, as she was previously crowned Miss World Nicaragua 2020.

Panama, Natasha Vargas

She will be in charge of representing Panama at the next Miss Universe pageant in 2023. The young woman is 25 years old and has a modeling career with a degree in journalism.

Paraguay, Elicena Andrada

Elicena Andrada is 28 years old and has extensive experience in beauty pageants, where she participated in Miss Latin America of the World and Miss Grand Paraguay 2021.

Peru, Camila Escribns

Camila Escribens, 25, is originally from Lima, Peru. She has a long history in beauty pageants where she proudly represented her country. Camila distinguished herself at Miss USA Peru, Miss Grand Peru, Miss Grand International, among others.

Puerto Rico, Karla Guilfú

Karla Guilfú Acevedo is 25 years old and originally from Villa Pesquera, in Patillas, Puerto Rico. According to the newspaper Metro de Puerto Rico, the young woman is no stranger to beauty pageants, as she holds the title of Miss Supranational Puerto Rico 2021 awarded by Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico.

Dominican Republic, Mariana Downing

She is 27 years old, works as a model and actress. The CDN portal states that the young woman also studies philosophy.
