Even for die-hard genre fans, this horror series is sometimes a bit too much: with the ‘Terrifier’ films, director Damien Leone has created a real success story. The first part of the brutal gore franchise about the disgusting clown Art (David Howard Thornton), who mercilessly tortures and mutilates his victims, hit theaters in 2016 and grossed more than $400,000 worldwide. Because the film only cost $35,000, the butcher horror became a real surprise hit.
Word of the film’s exceptional “quality” spread quickly among connoisseur circles – and it was no surprise that “Terrifier 2” had already grossed $15 million at the box office. A third part has also been announced and already has a start date: On October 31, 2023, Art The Clown will hit the screen in “Scarer 3“color blood red.
It’s been known for a while that the sequel will take place at Christmas – This is once again confirmed by the surprisingly released trailer of “Terrifier 3”, in which Art in a Santa Claus costume grabs an ax. And apparently the terrorist clown doesn’t even feel sorry for children – or so the first moving images suggest, in which Art meets a curious child sneaking down the stairs on Christmas morning – to catch the would-be Santa Claus putting down the presents. . How easy it is to be wrong… And in the next shot, Art sits in a blood-stained living room enjoying milk and cookies.
“Terrifier 2” uncut on Amazon Prime Video
The first trailer makes it clear that we probably won’t suddenly be served light food in “Terrifier 3”. Quite the opposite. To find out if the series is for you, you can currently stream ‘Terrifier 2’ on Amazon Prime Video – at no extra cost and (even more amazingly) completely uncut!
The first part can also be found in the streaming giant’s portfolio, but is only available in a harmless FSK 18 version. So if you want to see ‘Terrifier 3’ in the cinema next year, you have the ideal opportunity to test whether your stomach is ready for the film. Anyone who likes practical splatter effects will definitely enjoy the cynical blood spectacle. However, if you can’t see blood, you should avoid the bloody battle plate as much as possible.
