1. Montreux Christmas Market

At the Christmas market in Montreux VD, everything is a little different: Here, the cute wooden houses of the Christmas market stand right next to exotic palm trees. It’s not “just” the traditional market, with 150 tastefully decorated chalets along the lakeside promenade, but there are also many Christmas highlights.

Friends of knights, jugglers and witches can take a journey back in time to the Middle Ages at Chillon Castle. In the medieval market, storytellers will enchant young and old around the cozy fireplace, musicians will play medieval melodies, and young fairies will find the necessary accessories in the fairy market.

The highlight is a personal visit to Santa Claus, who lives at the 2,042-metre summit of Rochers-de-Naye and welcomes children and adults to his hut. Meanwhile, Santa Claus has thought of something very special: He comes flying every day with his reindeers and lands on the Place du Marché.
