The finale of “Goosebumps at Midnight” will leave many viewers with a question mark over their heads. That alone isn’t really an issue if it hadn’t been the norm in the past for Mike Flanagan’s Netflix series to be one season. However, in the case of “The Midnight Club” (the original title of the series), there are too many unanswered questions to really complete the format in one season.
In conversation with Mike Flanagan has now commented on this and made it clear that a second season is actually planned. All fans have to do is stream the series and keep their fingers crossed:
“We probably won’t know what Netflix wants in the coming months either, but the format was very poised to move forward. Pike has over 80 books, so we have an incredible amount of material to draw from. We still don’t have answers to some of the biggest questions of the season. These answers exist, but were intended for the coming seasons. If there aren’t any, I’ll post the answers on Twitter so we can all talk about it anyway.”
That means in plain language: In theory, if Midnight Goosebumps is successful enough, nothing stands in the way of a second season. Mike Flanagan is one of Netflix’s most prestigious artists. In the top 10 series trends on Netflix, “Goosebumps at Midnight” has made itself comfortable since its appearance – even if it never made it to the top spot due to the sensational success of “Dahmer – Monster”. The signs are basically pretty good.
If there’s no second season of “Midnight Goosebumps,” new content from Mike Flanagan will be coming to Netflix soon. His new series, The Fall Of The House Of Usher, is already in post-production. Here one can assume that the format, which is based on Edgar Allen Poe’s templates, will be released next year – probably again around Halloween. Flanagan recently explained what awaits us here:
