Punta Cana – one of the most beautiful beaches in the world
A sandy beach surrounded by turquoise sea and coconut trees. Also, constant sunlight and water temperatures, as in the tub – no, this is not an advertising slogan. The area around the city of Punta Cana in the east of the Dominican Republic is indeed one of the most beautiful seaside destinations in the world. Dream beaches line here for miles. It must be 50 kilometers. That’s why there aren’t as many all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean as in the «Area Republic». This has a decisive advantage for visitors: Prices are consistently low due to competition. The tropical country has another advantage: temperatures range from 20 to 30 degrees throughout the year. This means that the winter is wonderfully warm here. If you need a break to sunbathe and splash water, you can try kitesurfing, parasailing, jet skiing or surfing. Beach and water activities are (almost) endless here. Of course, the fun doesn’t end there when the sun goes down. On the contrary: Punta Cana is famous for its party nights. Be it at the club or at the beach bar.
Maldives – happy birthday
The Maldives are now celebrating their 50th birthday: On October 3, 1972, the first resort in the island state opened its doors to tourists – a few years after the archipelago in the Indian Ocean was first reached by plane. Since then, 1196 islands have become one of the largest destinations on the planet. Hint: The sight of coral islands rising like sand-colored specks from the blue sea is particularly impressive when flying in a seaplane. Since islands are usually no bigger than a few football fields, the motto here is: an island, a resort. That’s why peace and quiet are guaranteed – and romantic hours at a villa on the water and a candlelit dinner on the beach. Maldives is an ideal holiday destination for honeymooners, lovers and lovebirds. Or how about a dreamy wedding on the beach barefoot?
Fuerteventura – for athletes and beach lovers
With year-round mild temperatures, the Canary Islands have always been one of the most popular destinations for a “winter getaway” from Europe. Another plus point: With a flight time of just four hours, a shorter flight visit to one of the seven islands is also beneficial. From the tiny island of El Hierro to the deserted paradise of La Gomera and the versatile Gran Canaria, “Islas Canarias” has something for everyone. Looking for a walking holiday, sunbathing or sporting events? No problem. And where are the most beautiful beaches? The answer is simple: in Fuerteventura. Because the second largest island of the Canary Islands resembles a desert in many regions. Fuerteventura makes up for its lack of vegetation with the most beautiful sandy beaches in the Canary Islands. Most resorts and the most beautiful beaches can be found in the town of Corralejo in the north and Morro Jable in the south. Due to Fuerteventura’s position on the trade winds, ideal surfing conditions also prevail in “Europe’s Hawaii”. So why not get on skis?
Hurghada – always a good choice
The Red Sea is currently one of the safest options for a good bath mood. Egypt’s bathing destinations also enjoy temperatures above 20 degrees Celsius in winter and receive about nine hours of sunshine a day. With a four-hour flight time, the Red Sea can also be made for a shorter cruise. The all-star beach is Hurghada, with the best resort facilities and the best diving and snorkeling spots in Europe within a reasonable time. You can even spot turtles and harmless reef sharks while snorkeling. Be sure to join one of the snorkeling excursions offered! Or why not get certified at a diving school? Tip: The offshore island of Giftun has beautiful beaches and snorkeling spots (trips are organized on site). Hurghada also offers a variety of inland excursions and desert experiences, ideal for anyone looking to take a break from the sea.
Khao Lak – dreamy beaches and unspoiled nature
The good news: Thailand, which has been quite strict throughout the pandemic, has lowered all corona entry requirements for the fall and winter seasons, just in time. And that’s not all: The tourist visa you received on arrival has been extended from 30 days to 45 days. So you can enjoy the comfortable Thai life on some of the world’s most beautiful beaches even longer. Thanks to direct flights from Switzerland, the area around the island of Phuket is ideal. A short drive to the north is the resort area of Khao Lak, with its 20+ kilometers of sandy beach and unspoiled hinterland. The tiny Khao Lak National Park stretches all the way to the sea. The nearby Khao Sok National Park is much larger, where you can spot wild elephants, tigers and leopards with a bit of luck. must visit! But southern Thailand’s natural beauty is not limited to rural areas. Top-notch diving and snorkeling spots are in the open sea. If you have a little more time, you should go on a diving trip for a few days to Similan and Surin Islands, where you can see whale sharks especially well.
