At the end of 2021, Marvel introduced the superheroes ‘Eternals’ to the big screen in the blockbuster of the same name, starring not only British acting stars such as Kit Harington and Richard Madden in the MCU, but also British pop star Harry Styles. Styles was featured in one of Marvel’s famous mid-credits scenes as Eros, aka Starfox, the brother of “Avengers” supervillain Thanos, promising to the remaining Eternals that he would help them find new friends.
After that, things got pretty quiet about Styles’ return to the role of the brand new galactic hero. Although Styles has mainly made a name for himself in the past two years through his music and his roles in the films ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and ‘My Policeman’, Marvel has also introduced a whole host of new superheroes* to the MCU and to each other woven into a tangle of after- and mid-credits scenes. Like Marvel boss Kevin Fig However, it has now been revealed that Harry Styles’ return to the MCU is still planned.
Kevin Feige leaves open where he places Harry Styles in the MCU
This is what the Marvel mastermind explained in an interview with at the premiere of “The Marvels” that there was mutual joy over Harry Styles’ return to the MCU: “He’s looking forward to it. We are looking forward to. We shall see. You introduce many new characters in many films and credit scenes. Where will these characters appear again? That is a good question.”
It almost sounds like Kevin Feige knows as little as we do about where he wants to put Styles – or he just doesn’t like being watched. The assumption, of course, would be that Styles would be seen in a sequel to ‘Eternals’. However, the film is getting a sequel not yet officially confirmed been and is still on shaky ground – not least because the film received mixed reactions.
In fact, the MCU offers many more opportunities for Styles to return as Eros aka Starfox – as a galactic hero, for example in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 4’, a possible ‘Thor 5’ or in an Avengers sequel, ‘The Kang ‘. Dynasty” or “Secret Wars”. In any case, a deployment among the Avengers would be a continuity of his brother Thanos’ legacy – even if Starfox would be on the other side of power. To sum up Feige’s words: we’re looking forward to it. Let’s see what happens (what happens).
